Whack a Cloud
Whack clouds, run the egg home
Whack a Cloud is Liam Ottinger’s Roblox game, and we build it together 50/50. Smash smiling clouds with a hammer, outrun the biome boss carrying the egg back to your farm, and hatch pets that earn cash while you’re away.
Bonk a cloud for its egg
Every swing pays cash, and a cloud takes one to five hits depending on your hammer. On the last hit the cloud bursts and vanishes, dropping an egg onto the grass. Tap the cloud to swing, or switch hammers first.
Outrun the boss to the safe zone
Once you grab an egg out in the danger zone, that biome’s boss chases you down the line until you cross the safe zone back to your farm. In Candy Fields it’s the Bubblegum Bee. Scroll to run it home.
Hatch pets that earn every second
Place an egg on your farm to start its countdown, ten seconds for a Common up to a full day for the rarest tiers. Tap the egg to watch a real hatch from the game.
Grow the farm across 50+ biomes
Fuse three matching pets into a Golden one, upgrade your hammer, and rebirth for triple cash. Past Farm Town the road opens onto 50+ biomes and a second world of dinosaurs you can ride. Fuse these three, then play it on Roblox.
Notes
- What it is
- A Roblox game listed as “Whack a cloud (for eggs)”. Bonk smiling clouds with a hammer until they burst, grab the egg that drops, run it home before a boss catches you, and hatch it into a pet that earns on your farm. From there you fuse pets, rebirth, and push across 50+ biomes and a second world of dinosaurs you can ride.
- Whose it is
- Whack a Cloud is Liam Ottinger’s game. We build it together, 50/50.
- How it’s built
- Liam and I built the game in Luau on Roblox, directing AI coding agents across the client, server, and shared modules. The server stays authoritative over every hit, egg drop, cash tick, and hatch timer, while the client animates every cloud, pet, and shopkeeper locally on RenderStepped with no network traffic. DataStore saves lock per server session so a fast rejoin can’t duplicate an egg or pet.
- The art
- The clouds and pets started from generated concept images and generated 3D meshes that we rigged in Blender. We wrote the rig scripts, the walk cycles, and the UI lettering ourselves.
- On this page
- The lawn, the cloud you bonk, the Bee and the pets are drawings for the web that follow the game’s own rules: how many taps your hammer needs, the cloud bursting, the boss giving up at the safe zone. The distances are squeezed to fit. The footage inside the first cloud and the hatch window was recorded inside the Roblox game with the interface hidden.
